Explanation:- The mutation most probably would be in lacO cis-element because in merizygote the where repressor from wild lac operon is normal but fue to mutation in operator region it is not able to bind the operator thus cannot prevent lac operon expression thus giving 100% beta galactosidase activity.When lactose is added to the medium repressor molecules bind to lactose or allolactose and become inactive which further increases lac operon expression to 200% ( beta galactosidase activity).
