16 s RNA genes are the genes coding for 16s RNa which is coded by dna present near the region of chromatin whichbis involved in the nucleolus , or nucleolar like region in prokaryotes, which is involved in ribosomal synthesis.

They can be annotated and located as the regions of euchromatin as they are trnascribed continuously and thus are transcriptional lu active.
