Answer #1

D is correct answer because phage DNA enter into nucleus and protein get degraded in cytoplasm so phage DNA which enter in nucleus will produce or replicate it's own DNA and also form protein of own type.

So new phage produce T2 protein and T2 DNA.

A permissive bacterial strain is simultaneously infected with two strains of T4- like phage. One phage strain has the genotype a -b + , while the other is a +b - . If the map distance between markers a and b is about 10 map units, what proportion of the progeny phages are expected to have the genotype a +b +? Review Each temperate (or lysogenic) bacteriophage (e.g., lambda, 434, P22) encodes its own repressor protein. The repressor binds to six binding sites within the phage genome. These sites can also be bound by a second transcriptional repressor encoded by the phage, called Cro. The pattern of binding of repressor and Cro to these sites determines whether the phage grows lytically or lysogenicaly. Launch the molecular model of the temperate bacteriophage repressor to explore its structure. Then, answer the questions. Launch...

The bacteriophage used in this experiment reproduces by the lytic cycle. Suppose a similar experiment were conducted with a bacteriophage that uses the lysogenic cycle. How would the effect on the infected bacteria MOST likely differ? A. The bacteriophage would attach to the bacteria and reproduce in the extracellular space. B. The bacteriophage would become permanently dormant and unresponsive to environmental cues for reproduction. C. The bacteriophage would attach its genes to the bacteria’s DNA, allowing its genes to be...

    6) Proteins are composed of amino acids polymerized into long chains. The structure of a protein - that is, its overall shape and how the chains are "folded” around each other - is very important for its function. In an aqueous environment, in an active, folded state the hydrophilic amino acids in the protein are facing outwards exposed to the water and the hydrophobic amino acids are hidden away from the water in the core of the protein. In a...
