The population of Koalas in South Africa descended mainly from a few colonists that came from Western Australia. Today, the African Koala population has an unusually high frequency of the allele that causes susceptibility to pneumonia, because those original few colonists just happened to carry that allele with 0.95 frequency. What effect could have caused this (Bottleneck or founder) and why?

This is happened due to founder effect because the colony migrated to Koalas was having higher frequency of allele causing susceptibility to pneumonia. It caused the higher frequency of allele in comparison to original population. As a result of genetic drift allele frequency is changed as compared to original population. But bottleneck is occurred in the the same locality where original population is residing if some disaster decreases the population size to very small.
