How to get your audience's attention, engaged, and end/conclude strongly
Audience attention can be get when :
1. You start of with something shocking
2.use emotional influence in your voice. If you aren't emotionally invested in whatever it is you're presenting, you probably shouldn't be the one presenting it.
3.Use the power of louds and softs. Speaking in one constant tone will bore your readers, even if you somehow manage to put some emotion behind it.
4. Call out individuals in the audience. This one demands a degree of improvisation, since you may not be able to predict the makeup or participation willingness of your audience until the day of your presentation.
5.Set up some jokes. Even the most serious of topics deserve some kind of humorous break.
You can engaged in audience when:
1.Tell a story. Anybody can do this, and it works. I’ve shared before about how to use storytelling effectively.
2. Show a picture. The easiest way to make it visual is to use a large, eye-catching photo. Even this blog post uses a photo to attract eyeballs.
3.Ask a question. This could be a rhetorical question, but it’s more effective to ask a question and solicit some responses from the audience.
4.Quiz them. As school kids, most of us were afraid of pop quizzes.
5.Use a game-inspired tactic. As gamification has shown, you don’t have to create a full-blown game to engage people.
You can conclude strongly by :
1.Call it a conclusion. In my opinion, the best conclusions are outright labeled "Conclusion," either with a header (as in my example below) or with the phrase "In conclusion.
2.Make it short. When the reader comes to the end of a well-written article, they can feel the article begin to wrap up and they're prepared for an ending.
3.Be real. A conclusion is a chance for you to relate with your audience, human to human.
4. Don’t put any pictures in it. I have images or screenshots throughout most of my articles, but when I hit the conclusion, I stop
