Answer #1

Eventhough a man produces fair amount of functional sperm cells , there can still arise the problem of infertility. This can be due to many factors such as the sperms that are produced must be delivered to the semen, there must be ejaculation of sperm along with semen without any blockage, semen must be of good quality and quantity.

  • Blockage in the delivery of sperm to semen or improper ejaculation of semen containing sperm. This can arise due to vasectomy. People who underwent vasectomy possess infertility eventhough they produce fair amount of functional sperm. It blocks the supply of sperm and cause infertility. This is usually done by people who decides to stop pregnancy (impregnation) permanantly. Some diseases such as chlamydia and gonorrhea can cause block in the spermtube and decrease or stop the delivery of semen with sperm and cause infertility.
  • Another factor is the quality of semen : The semen is the fluid that gives energy to the sperm. The quality of semen can also affect the sperm. Evironmental mutations such as radiations can reduce the quality of semen. Semen quality can also be reduced due to several health issues, the type of food you eat etc. If the quality of semen is very low, it can also cause infertility.
