Technology is a tool used by organizations to solve problems. The whole process of solving the problem involves collecting and analyzing data and then putting forth results that remedy an issue in the business.
Situation
In my small business, I do not usually equate the word enterprise to local and mom-and-pop business. However, my enterprise resource planning software developers are progressing and tailoring this software to encounter the needs of my mid-sized businesses. Most multinational mega corporations already use enterprise resource planning to unravel efficiency problems between various departments, including manufacturing, accounting, finance, and sale.
Task
Customers expect an identical level of service from a business that carries a name, no matter the physical location. Collaboration software tools are used to solve the problem of small business locations conducting business. This method brings problems to the attention and everyone who is involved and decisions are generally made.
Actions
Enterprises should afford to staff and run the whole department devoted to business analytics. Instead of outsourcing this function, medium-sized companies can customize business analysis tools to crunch data (Bonabeau, 2009). If again the sales are projected to fall, then the business may decide to increase spending on advertising to resolve this problem of falling revenues.
Result
The predictions and concerns that computers are forecasted to overtake out-think human intellect. Computer processing power increases, this helps professionals make essential decisions about business operations (Bransford, et al., 2012). DSS systems focus on compiling raw business data and this help organization to foresee issues that a human alone cannot plan for.
