Intermediate filaments

Microtubule

Microfilaments are the narrow structure with a diameter of around 7 nm. Microfilaments are made up actin protein monomers.

Intermediate filaments are made of multiple strands of fibrous proteins with a diameter of around 8 to 10 nm. Intermediate filaments is found between the microfilaments and microtubules.

Microtubule is largest one protein found in cytoskeleton, it is made up of tubulin proteins which are arranged in a form of hollow and straw-like tube with a diameter around 25nm

Microfilament is used to tracks myosin, which can form filaments, and due to this actin myosin relationship this actin is take part in many cellular events which required motion as it contain muscle contraction motion.

Actin also played role cell moments like WBC

Intermediate filaments are permanent in structure so they played a crucial role in structural role of the cell. Its main function is to maintain the shape of the cell. The important example of intermediate filament is keratin, which is a fibrous protein and found in hair, skin and nails.

Microtubules functioned as providing the structural support to cell and it also provide tracks for kinesins and dynein, microtubules played a role in transport vesicles and other cargoes near the interior of the cell.

Microtubules played crucial role cell division, microtubules assemble into the spindle, which is main function is to pulls the chromosomes apart.
