How do I do a histograms or scatter plots for a regression data screening in SPSS for relationship satisfaction index (CSI) and sexual shame, TOSCA shame, RES(self esteem) , lastly depression scale?

  • Open SPSS and enter the data in data view.
  • Go to graphs , select scatter/dot and select matrix scatter .
  • Transfer the variables to matrix variable pan .
  • Click ok to get the output .
  • A question arises why need to plot the independent variable to another independent variable . This is due to the detection of multicollinearity among independent variables.
  • From the scatter matrix we can conclude about the shape , strength and direction of the association (correlation) of the variables .
