Question 4

Three enzymes are key enzymes involved in glycolysis. These three enzymes are hexokinase, phosphofructokinase, pyruvate kinase.

Glycolysis anaerobic metabolic pathway occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell.  Glycolysis converts one glucose to 2 molecules of pyruvate. Note that actually in glycolysis 10 different enzymes and 10 biochemical reactions will occur. Out of 10, three are a regulatory step and three regulatory irreversible enzymes. These steps and enzymes are mentioned below.

Question 6

During step 3 of citric acid cycle, isocitrate is oxidized, and producing a five-carbon α-ketoglutarate, together with a molecule of CO2 and two electrons, which reduce NAD+ to NADH. This step is also regulated by negative feedback from ATP and NADH and by a positive effect of ADP. Steps three and four are both oxidation and decarboxylation steps, which release electrons that reduce NAD+ to NADH and release carboxyl groups that form CO2 molecules.

Individual humans have varying metabolisms and set points" When we eat less that - 20% of our calories from fat, we make fat from carbohydrates anyway We synthesize most of the cholesterol we use in our bodies regardless of diet Promoting low or no-fat diets in the past has caused many humans to over-consulte carbohydrates,...
