A. The main function of this protein is vascular growth known as angiogenesis . This protein encoding gene is induced when hypoxia takes place in any tissue (HIF) .This gene is activate in endothelial cells of blood vessels and smooth muscle when hypoxia takes place in surrounding tissue.

B. This protein is related to many disease Like POEMS syndrome ,multivascular complication of diabetes 1, and also tumor growth. When tumor grow uncontrolled manner , tumor tissues secretes HIF due to hypoxia ,this HIF helps to induce angiogenesis in surrounding blood vessels.
