CASE 1:

Sara gets the report card from her primary school that include her weekly performance to let parent know about her academic performance. Each time she brought home a great report card, her parents would take her out for dinner at her favorite restaurant. Or, they'd shower her with praise. Then, the next time she receives a good report card, she already well up with happy emotions, even before she bring it home to show her parents. When she arrived at high school, her parents provided no praise or reward to her even with perfect report card. Sara in these times, just get the card and put it on the table without any emotion.One day, her father saw the report cards and praised her daughter and bought her favorite food. She felt really appreciateful.

CASE2 :

On the other hand, Kisses and cuddles from a Sara after her bedtime story will make the parent to want to read again in the future. She sleeps in the next room with her family and her father snores loudly. It keeps her awake every night, and she is exhausted. She buy a pair of earplugs and try sleeping while wearing them. The earplugs remove the sound of the snoring, so she begins to use them every night. She and her parent have chores that each must complete every week. When one leaves the dishes piled in the sink and doesn't complete their chore of loading the dishwasher, she or he must also do the laundry. If A brother and sister are not doing their chores when they come home from school. Fed up, a mother resets the Wi-Fi password so the children can no longer access the Internet.

There are two types of conditioning. Operant conditioning is a conditioning in which a behavior is a result of either reinforcement or punishment. Reinforcement increases the occurring of response whereas punishment decreases it. There are two types of reinforcement and punishment. On the other hand second type is classical conditioning takes place there is association of two different stimuli where the first stimulus is unconditioned stimulus and response from unconditioned stimulus is unconditioned response.

Case 1- This is the case of classical conditioning. Here, getting the favorite food is unconditioned stimulus which makes the Sara happy which is unconditioned response, but the getting the favorite the food is associated with bringing of report card (which was initial a neutral stimulus) which is now conditioned stimulus and now every time she gets report card makes her happy which is conditioned response. But one day when Sara arrives with her report card, she did not get anything, here the learned behavior is about to extinct (slowly decrease of learned behvior) but before that her father saw it and praised her and also brought her favorite food which spontaneous recovery as she has showed the unconditioned response and behavior is recovered.

Case 2 – This is a case of Operant conditioning. Sara’s cuddles and kiss encouraged the behavior of her parent to read in future which positive reinforcement is as it is addition of kisses to encourage the behavior of reading during nigh. Here, if either of them brother or sister, do not do their chores after coming back to home, mother reset the Wi-Fi password, this is negative reinforcement because she took away the internet from their daily which is very important in order to encourage a behavior.
