A signal generator is an electronic device that generates electronic signals either in the analog or the digital form.

There are many different types of signal generators are there.

A signal generator generates the signals of below mentioned type.

1.Sinusoidal

3.PULSE

4.Triangular.

and so many.

These signal generators can be realized using op amps .

So the internal circuitry of signal generator contains analog components like op amps ,BJT's ,MOSFET's ,etc.

For example using an Astable multivibrator circuit we can generate a square wave signal.

By giving this square wave signal as input to the integrator we can get triangular wave.

Based on the type the signal generators will vary on the cost and performance.

The performance of these signal generators is limited to their certain frequency range.
