Active power balance management system in nordic countries is divided into two balance area, The western denmark part in UCTE and synchronous part of nordel. The Transmission system operators (TSOs) task is to provide physical balance and safe system operation.

Balancing of active power consist of three major steps

1.Planning

2. Regulation

3. Settlement

There are two balancing system one is for the generation and another one is for consumption and trade.
