Answer to the above question:

Given, Specific growth rate = 0.2 hour-1

Specific death rate = 0.02 hour-1

To calculate, the doubling time we use the following formula:

Doubling time = specific growth rate/ specific death rate

= 0.2/ 0.02

= 10

Therefore doubling time of the culture is 10 times.
