There are different factors which contribute to suicide like as follows:

  • maltreatment of child.
  • history of suicide
  • chances of clinical depression which can be linked to increased incidences of suicide and depression.
  • hoplessness and feeling of isolation and seclusion in life.
  • aggressive and argumentative personality in life.
  • loss of job, work, and employment.
  • loss of marriage prospects with failure of formation of emotional ties and relationships in life.
  • physical illness with chances of loss of health.
  • history of intake of excessive alcohol with tendency to commit suicide
  • history of intake of abused banned substances like drugs which can cause the development of suicidal symptoms leading to suicide in life.

The psychological perspective of suicide includes the decision of a person to commit suicide and the ability of a person to end his life. It was explained by Joiner in 2005. These symptoms arise due to the development of two forms of mental perceptions in life which can cause the occurrence of death in a person. There is sense of frustration, depression, loneliness, solitude, isolation and sad bereavement which causes the development of thinking leading to the commitment of suicide. There is no fear of infliction of fear, injury and pain which causes the development of deadly symptoms of suicidal thoughts leading to the commitment of such action in life. One of the prominent factor is the increased burden and family pressure of rearing many children with lack of funds and economic opportunities which causes the occurrence of suicidal thoughts and symptoms. These tendencies include the commitment of offences like self-injury and self-mutilation of body leading to infliction of self-pain in the body. These are the psychological perspectives which lead to the commitment of suicide and self injury of the body.

In USA ,people above the age of 75 yrs commit suicide due to the increasing tendency of isolation, depression and solitude in life. There is loss of mental and physical health in old age which is the leading cause of death of old persons. There is degeneration of different regions of brain in old age which causes the occurrence of symptoms of suicide due to frustration and stress leading to infliction of self-pain on the human body. There is balance of social and moral integration in life according to the explanation of Durkheim which gets dysregulated leading to the commitment of suicidal tendencies. There are tendencies of committing suicide in old age due to the increasing social pressure, burden and a tendency to get relieved of the social pressures and family pressures in life due to less financial conditions and low socioeconomic conditions. Old people have mental disorders which can also lead to the commitment of suicide and death due to lack of mental and physical health with lack of support and care.

There are therapies which reduce the amount of depression, stress and anxiety in people which can decrease the chances of committing suicide in the society. There are collaborative care models and evidence based therapy which decrease the incidence of suicide due to availability of different conditions like good environment and infrastructure with adequate communication of the patient with the physician or psychologist for treating and curing the patient. There is an Interpersonal Theory of Suicide which explains that there are different requirements and needs in life along with the care of family which if unmet lead to the condition of suicide due to unsuccessful life and unaccomplishment of the different situations and scenarios in life which are unfulfilled. The main factors were low socioeconomic conditions, tendency to drink alcohol, depression, stress and anxiety in life. There are other different aspects of social contract and religiosity which if not fulfilled lead to the condition of suicide and infliction of self-harm to an individual. There is lack of support in life with lack of coordination and social communication which can lead to the commitment of suicide due to lack of effective understanding and communication between the different family members leading to incidences of acts of suicide which are prevalent in different families.

There are different intervention programs and treatment for a person who has tried to commit suicide in the family like:

  • effective drugs for treating the patients.
  • effective psychotherapy for curing the patient
  • counseling and psychotherapy by a psychologist to overcome the conditions of depression, stress and anxiety.
  • yoga and other exercises which lead to the prevention of suicide in people in different families.
  • development of communication network for mitigating the problem of suicide in different families.
  • development of communication skills with evidence based therapy and communication for understanding the trauma and mental conditions which can lead to the occurrence of suicidal tendencies.

There is tendency of teens to commit suicide due to the prevalent conditions of alcohol intake abuse and intake of banned drugs like marijuana which causes the incidence of suicide in the families. There are different types of therapy which are available to the people undergoing treatment like as follows:

  • pharmcotherapy
  • family therapy
  • group therapy
  • psychotherapy in hospital.
  • outpatient and inpatient consultation.
