Yes, it is true that OEC(oxygen evolving comppex) or water splitting complex of PS - II, breaks the water into H - atoms and molecular oxygen. During photosynthesis hydrogens are transferred to reduced CO2 and thus, an energy rich molecule Glucose is formed.
