For this Discussion, read Change Management on a Mega Project: A Case Study. Analyze the change management process using the change requests from different stakeholders. To whom were change requests made? How were the change requests handled for each stakeholder? What was the consequence of the change requests on the project?

Change management process :-

There are certain steps in the change management process. They are -

  1. The first step is to determine what is needed to improve in the process.
  2. To convince the stakeholders, it is thus needed to present a solid business case.
  3. The next and the most important step is the planning for the change.
  4. Then according to the planning process, it is needed to arrange the resources.
  5. This step is all about communication. In this step, the planning would form it's mode into action.
  6. The next step is monitoring the actions well as taking care of the budget.
  7. The last step is to celebrate the success of the process as well as reviewing and improving continuously.

To whom :-

According to the size and complexity of the project, in some cases, the sponsors takes the decision, in some cases the change request has been made to the project manager and in some cases it is the senior management level or the Change Control Board (CCB).

How the change request handled :-

When the change request is made, the entire team discuss the ways to satisfy the request with agreement. The team also takes care of the unnecessary usage of resources.

Consequences :-

After the change request, the team aims to fulfill the requirements of the client by using the available resources.
