Answer #1

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs relates with the motivation theory. Each healthcare employee has a hierarchical needs including physiological, safety, social, esteem and self-actualization needs. The most common need for any individual is to earn money to fulfill the need of food, clothing and shelter for their families and for themselves (i.e physiological needs). Once this is fulfill, the employees or individual need to feel secure from any physical harm at workplace or anywhere else. Employees need job protection and security from any work related hazards. The next level of need relates with the social need in terms of association with other employees at work place or individuals in social circle accepts each other. Whereas, the next is esteem needs which is important to showcase respect to each other to have more achievements and accomplishments at work place or at personal front. It is reflected in the employee job satisfaction. The self-actualization needs shows that an individual live up to the maximum potential by using abilities. As a leader for a healthcare team, it is important to establish personal connection with the healthcare employee or team member, communicate the desired outcomes to have the positive outcomes, remain resilient, in case of any challenging situation taking a step back to understand the situation and offer best action plan for the patients, time to time rewards and recognitions, provide adequate compensation to employees, provide positive and safe work environment to offer patient care, trainings to meet the dynamic medical needs, and most important to have the mutual trust.
