Information policy: Is the set of organization's rules for sharing, acquiring , classifying, disseminating, standardizing and storing the information. Information policy will layout the specific procedures and accountability for identifying which user or organization unit can share the data, who is responsible for updating and maintaining these information and where the information's can be distributed.

Data administration: it is the process where the organization data is monitored, maintained and managed by the data administrator or by the organization itself. It will allow the organization to control their data assets along with their interaction and processing with other applications and business process. In the larger companies the formal data administration function is responsible for information policy, along with the monitoring the data usage of company, data planning, data dictionary development.
