Technology used primarily in internal operational communication are primarily mail ,telephone.orders ,instructions,memos,internet calling,messenger ,many organizations provide intranet facility for internal electronic communication.

technology used primarily in external operational communication:

Mails,video conferencing,Skype calling,Web conferencing,Telephonic conversation,Chatbot technology ,Utilizing a two-way SMS system with automated response.

Since their is difference between internal and external communication itself there comes the difference in use of technology.Internal communication implies a communication that takes place between the members of the organization.The type of communication that occurs between the organization and external party/organization is known as external communication.External communication are mostly formal and the frequency is also low.People generally tend to use better technology of communication so a clear thought process flow.External operational communication  flows in the vast business environment not withing organization hence this calls for a difference.
