Answer #1

first calculate molarity of 49.0 mL solution

Molarity = (W /MW) (1000 / V in mL)

W = 4.95 g

V = 49.0 mL

MW = 134.45 g/mol

Molarity = (4.95 / 134.45) (1000 / 49.0)

Molarity = 0.75 M

according to dilution law

M1V1 = M2V2

M1 = 8.20 M , V1 = 134 mL

M2 = 0.75 M , V2 = ?

V2 = (M1V1 /M2)

V2 = (8.20 x 134 / 0.75)

V2 = 1465 mL

to 1465 mL we should dilute

answer = 1465 mL
