Studies show that college students are vulnerable to obesity. More specifically, a recent research study conducted over a 10-year period has revealed that obesity rates among college students are on the rise. In 2002, 25.4 percent of college students were obese, and in 2012, 30.2 percent of college students were obese. Researches have suggested that the main reasons for the prevalence of obesity among college students is the lack of access to healthy foods and the increase in alcohol consumption.

2. Why is there an increase in alcohol consumption?

3. Why has the rate increased upto 6%.?

4. Are there any other psychosocial factors that can be responsible for the increase in obesity among college going students?

The information we are trying to gather from these questions is important to us because it will give us clarity on the why are we specifically stating a certain age group of people and also are we unconsciously ignoring other reasons that could be responsible for increased rate of obesity than just inaccessibility to food.
