1)Will a loss of function X-linked mutation ever confer a mutated phenotype, if carried on one of the X chromosomes of a female? Explain

1) Females have 2 copies of the X chromosome, if a null allele of a gene is present in one of the X chromosomes in females and another X Chromosome in the female has the functional allele then the female is heterozygous at that locus, and null allele won`t interfere with the expression of the other allele but null allele won`t produce a functional gene product, since there is one normal copy of the gene, normal phenotype can be produced, so null mutation of a gene on one X chromosome in the male won't produce a mutant phenotype.
