Identify how ethics and cultural diversity can impact team building, conflict resolution, and creating effective teams.
Culture is the most prominent and most recognizable entity in an
organization. The fact it is the most significant source of
influence consideration, commitment, and conformity creates the
understanding that its alignment and inclusion is necessary for any
process. The reason culture has so much power over the decisions of
the company is due to group thinking and the feeling of being a
part of a larger entity. What I mean by all of this is the fact
that culture thinks alike is the reason it is consistent and
advantageous for the organization.
Now, the inclusion of diversity adds letters to the culture, which
may not sit well with all members of the organization. Not
everybody would agree to a decision as a group creating conflicts
in teams and impact our team-building abilities. Ethics also plays
a vital role in how we perceive our functions in relation to our
moral compass. Being that most team disputes require negotiations,
the consideration for diversity inclusion, as well as its use in
creating cross-functional teams, can be a recipe for disaster if we
are not careful in programming our teams with a certain mindset. We
have to take a pragmatic approach to ethics when we consider team
decisions, conflicts, and disputes, as well as how a leader or a
manager decides to deal with it. The fact that the consideration
for ethics would require a sense of justice but a compromise might
require us to let certain things slip, creates a complicated setup
that ends up disrupting our workforce if not adequately
handled.
