Answer #1

Autoworker is a person who is employed in the manufacture of automobiles. They are mainly worked on assembly line.It is prefer to work under unionized plant. This is because unions are formed to protect the interests of workers. Various benefit package will be received under unionized system to the workers. A unionized system will provide job security to the workers. The demands of the workers can be reached to the management through union. As in plant ,the nature of job is difficult .so union work hard to fix working hours by presenting their issues in front of management. Just for example the wagner act passed in 1935 in United states forbids employees to act against workers who were forming workshops.Other example can be seen in the form of strikes by united Auto workers Union against General Motors for maintaining management and labour relations. So in the intetest of autoworker,it is better to work under unionized system.

If the same company had hired the person as a high-level manager, then it will be better that workers work under non-unionized system. This is because under non-unionized sysyem, the management will be more powerful .The workers will not be very much powerful as individually, they will not be able to influence the management. It is easy for the management to curb the demands of workers. They are asked to work for more hours also. So higher authority is more powerful than workers under this system.

As far as future of unions is concerned,it is seen that till date unions are protecting the interest of workers through collective bargaining. It was seen in the form of wage revision, job safety and much more. But in the present era of automation as per the report of forbes, the work of workers is in danger. As a result of automation, the power of unions has been deteriorated. Due to globalisation and emergence of international competition, situation has changed drastically. This is because of technological chwnges. Many works are done with the help of mechines. There is no best way for unions to remain active. But they can stiil go for collective bargaining strategies with the changing industry strategies, and labour market. Efforts can be seen from  UNI Global union coordination effort.Various training steps has been taken to upgrade the skills of workers.Complete automation is not seen everywhere, unions can work to protect their interests.
