After reading the first half of Kotter’s, Our Iceberg is Melting discuss:

1. Who are the key change agents in the story and what are each of their roles (contributions or deterrents) in the change process?

2. What are the relationships like among the various change agents? Are there any key relationships that facilitate or hinder the change? If so how and why?

3. Reflect on your own tendencies for change, which character is most like how you would tend to react? Is this tendency in line with your desired leadership style? If so, how is it aligned, if not, how is it misaligned with the leadership style that you strive for.

4. What are the implications or take-aways from this book so far regarding being an effective organizational change agent that you will make a note of? -Highlight the key lessons that can help you to better embrace change yourself and those which can help you to assist others around you to better (more easily) embrace change.

Answer 1:- If we look at the story, change is depicted as an ongoing activity. There will be no flat line in case of the change and in fact for being an effective leader, it is important to always learn and grow to the changes. Adapting the business changes is also the role of the change process. It is important for the business to develop with the changing technology. Learning methodology and grow fro it is the main accountability of the leader. Despite growing , the market will always supersede the leader.

Answer 2:- All the eight steps must be performed together. One step cannot be performed in the absence of other, else it will result in the breaking of the cycle and the efforts will be ruined. Having a team which is goal oriented is always good but one must focus on the weakness and overcoming them. It is important to be on the same page if the organization wants to learn from the new processes. If anyone of the team member is restraining, it will hamper the progress of the entire team,

Answer 3:- In my opinion, it is always better to change as it facilitates growth and advancement. In my opinion, this tendency is in sync with my inspiration to be an effective leader. Being busy I always refer and this can be done by accommodating with the changes. I will strive to be an effective leader

Answer 4:- There has been a lot of assistance from the book in order to improve my leadership skills and induce me to accept the change as the only thing which is consistent is change. The leader has the responsibility of making its team to be suited for the upcoming changes and this needs a lot of initiatives and toil. Organisations must be ready for the upcoming change else it will be out of the business
