In Nitrogen deficient habitats the protein making metabolic reactions are affected, to obtain enough amount of nitrogen, plants (here mosses) associates with nitogen fixing bacteria (cyanobacteria). Cyanobacteria after associating with plants' roots, stems etc reduce CO2 fixation (that is glucose formation) and increase N2 fixation. Cyanobacteria in reward gets readymade proteins form plan bodies. Since both the organisms are benefitted, this relationship is symbiotic relationship.
