basically amino acids are grouped under two categories i.e. essential and non-essential amino acids.
essential amino acids are the ones that our body does not make and hence we have to take it through the diet whereas on the other hand non-essential amino acids are made in the body itself and we do not have to take it through our diet.

and these stands for valine, isoleucine, phenylalanine, histidine, leucine, lysine, methionine, tryptophan and threonine.
