What is the relationship between Natural Selection and antibiotic resistance? How has Horizontal Gene Transfer (HGT) accelerated the process
Natural selection is the selection of trait by Nature Whereas antibiotic resistance is the artificial selection of bacteria which has antibiotic resistance in it.
Natural selection can select any trait in any organism where as antibiotic resistance select the ability of a microbial cell to grow in the presence of antibiotics.
Horizontal gene transfer if the mode of transmission of genes from one bacterium to the other, both of which may or may not belong to the same generation. The process of antibiotic resistance have been accelerated by horizontal gene transfer. So gene for antibiotic resistance is present in plasmid and horizontal gene transfer involves transfer of plasmid. It does not results in the transfer of chromosomal genes of microbes. So the plasmid carrying antibiotic resistance is transferred from one bacterium to the other during the process of horizontal gene transfer, increasing the number of bacteria containing this gene.
I have answered the question completely. Please read positively.

Describe the relationship between genetic drift, natural selection, and antibiotic resistance
The following is in regards to Horizontal gene transfer (i.e. transfer of info amongst cells from same generations rather than from parent cell to offspring cell). In terms of rapid development of multiple drug resistance, why is horizontal gene transfer of greater significance than vertical gene transfer? Name and explain two mechanisms of HGT (horizontal gene transmission). Describe two resistance mechanisms that bacteria may use to decrease susceptibility to a particular antibiotic.
Patateraph Styles What are the 3 types of horizontal gene transfer (HGT) in bacteria and how do they work? For conjugation, describe both Fplasmid conjugation and Hfr conjugation. List & define the main types of DNA mutations. Describe Frederick Griffith's transformation experiment How do things like heating DNA, restriction enzymes, reverse transcriptase, CRISPR, and cloning help biotechnology? AKA - what do these things do/how do they work? 3. What is the difference between sterilization, disinfection, antisepsis, and sanitation?
What are the 4 forms of gene transfer in bacteria? What is the difference between horizontal and vertical gene transfer? What is gene transfer? How genes move between genomes of bacteria.by the processes of transformation, transduction, conjugation, and transposition? How can gene transfer (conjugation, transformation) contribute to bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotic drugs?
D. Natural selection acts on the classes of antibiotics and the individual antibiotics evolve. T 8. How do bacteria that have never been treated by antibiotics acquire genes for antibiotic resistance? (1 pt) These bacteria are naturally resistant to all antibiotics. II. During conjugation, two bacterial cells form a bridge between them and exchange genetic information. This can transfer resistant genes from one cell to another (also known as horizontal gene transfer, plasmid exchange). Bacteria chose to join resistant populations...
When transforming bacteria in the lab, you co-transform an antibiotic resistance gene along with your gene of interest. By plating those bacteria on antibiotic plates, what principle are you relying on? Evolution O Counter-selection Adaptation Selection
Define natural selection. What is the essential difference between natural selection and the selection practiced by plant and animal breeders? What special adaptive challenges are posed by variable environments? What are the major factors that constrain the process of natural selection?
