Answer #1

DNA fingerprinting is a chemical method that is used to identify the genetic makeup of any living organism. This technique can detect lots of minisatellites that are present in the genome and produce a unique pattern which is known as DNA fingerprint.

The use of DNA fingerprinting in forensic sciences is very useful because the only small amount of sample material which is left at the back of the crime is sufficient to recognize the criminals. The matching of the DNA profile of the victim person and the criminal identifies a possible suspect. The matching of the DNA fingerprint of dissimilar crime indicates a repeat criminal at work.
