Explain the four phases of the Unified Process in 200 words.

The four phases of Unified process in 200 words are :-

1) Inception phase – The first phase has a very short time span as . The objectives , the scope of the different phases , project schedule , cost estimates of the project are being set . Preliminary decisions and feasibility are checked . Project team is decided.

2) Elaboration phase – The project team takes over the project requirements . Use-case , conceptual , package diagrams are created . Address if any risks are involved . The executable architecture baseline demonstrates that architecture will support key functionalities and right software behaviour . The plan for construction phase is the deliverable .

3) Construction phase – This is the largest phase . According to the plan made in the elaboration phase the remaining activities are completed . The iterations results in the release of executables of the software . UML includes activity , sequence , collaboration , state transition , interaction overview diagrams . This phase is iterative in nature . Final deliverable is the software ready for transition phase .

4) Transition phase – In this phase the software is deployed to the users . As feedbacks are received , refinements happen through transition phase iterations . It includes user training and system conversions .
