What are the differences between the terms “team” and “group?” Write down a team you have been a part of and a group you have been a part of. In what ways were they effective or not effective?

How were/are decisions made in your family? Has the process changed over time? What kinds of communication surround the decision making

There is a big difference between a Team and a Group. A team always remain goal oriented. Group may or may not have a goal. Team contains members which are associated with each other in professional manner. They remain emotionally attached.

There also remains a spirit of competition. Competitive spirit may or may not be present in a group. I was part of school cricket team. Our friend circle is an example of group. In a group, we usually remains casual. In a team, each and every associated member remain strict to his/her position.

In a team, each member has certain defined goals. I think team is more effective. It provides ability of critical thinking. It also helps in growth and development. It prepares our mind for the worst scenarios. It also prepares us for the unexpected circumstances.

It develops our mind. It also causes proficient skill development. Competitive spirit helps in better survival. Decisions in my family are made by my parents. They ask for our suggestions. They take feed backs about their decision.

They consider the wellness of each and every family member before taking any decision. They provide us liberties but with certain constraints. They also try to teach us the importance of discipline and morality. They try to avoid any situation of anarchy and conflict.

They also try to please everyone. Decision making process in our family always takes place in the guidance and supervision of parents. Their advises are considered with extreme seriousness.
