The strategic activity involves the activities in the strategy-making process of any company. Strategy making is the vision and direction of what the organization has to achieve and how they will do it. Public relations helps the strategy maker collect information from the social environment and interpret it for the process of strategy making and communicating this strategy to the people involved to implement it in their activities for effective results.
In the systems perspective, public relation depends on the type of organization. The level and nature of the interaction the organization have and requires the environment to define its systems involved in the process. The activity of public relations can be proactive and reactive. The system can be open or close depending on the organization. The ones that have and require less interaction with the environment are closed systems and the ones where boundaries are vast and they go beyond limits in interaction with the social environment are open systems. Public relations in both systems are essential for the strategy-making process in any organization.
