Uses:

1. It can provide training to new employees before joining the organization and after being a part of it.
2. It can provide access to documents that can be shared amongst different groups working on same project across teams/departments/even countries.
3. It provides information regarding company’s products which are sold or marketed online to prospective customers.
4. It gives information to customers, vendors, contractors regarding the product details and agreement/document details.
5. Extranet can be accessed using home network and therefore emergency or important decisions or information can be shared with customers even during holidays or non-working hours. This also helps for employees to work from home in case of some emergency (not able to travel, working mothers, expecting mothers).
6. It can be used to provide customised products details to prospective customers.
