Development of EMS based on ISO :-
Organizations mostly use that EMS framework which is being developed by the ISO 14001. The EMS can be developed based on the five stages by ISO 14001. These are -
1) The first stage is the greater commitment from the top management as well as establishing new policies for the environment.
2) The next stage is to find the environmental aspects of the organization which can make either positive or negative impact. The organization needs to determine which aspect would be most significant for itself.
3) The third step is the implementation of the action plan with the help of it's available resources. For the implementation, the employees needs to have proper training as well as the sense of environmental awareness.
4) After the implementation process, it is needed to do the evaluation as well as to monitor it's operations. The organization determines whether the target has been met and if not met then it can take corrective measures.
5) Lastly, reviewing the entire system is important to determine if EMS is working effectively. In this stage, it is needed to make the continuous improvement.
Hope this helps :)
