Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management approach to achieve overall success through consumer satisfaction.

TQM is a process oriented method and thus is divided in various processes. Teams play an important role in managing activities and processes. Employee participation and involvement in their field of specialisation helps to achieve quality objectives thereby increasing consumer satisfaction.

Teams can be structured based on process requirements and specialisation of employees.

Teamwork instigates brain storming thereby more innovative techniques for quality management.

Ans (b) Work Practices that can promote learning in context of TQM are:-

  1. Zero defects policy can be implemented and thus best quality can be assured.
  2. Using Six Sigma for identification and reduction of defects.
