PART ONE
Birth control methods help to prevent pregnancy. There are different types of birth control methods. The type of birth control method which women use depends on the health, whether they want to get pregnant now or in the future and their need to prevent sexually transmitted infections. The best method of birth control is the one which is comfortable to use, safe and can be consistently and correctly used. Doctors can help them to decide the effective method. These are the birth control methods:

1) Barrier methods - Use of male and female condoms, contraceptive sponge, diaphragms, cervical cups

Have to use each time while having sex

2) Short-acting hormonal methods - Use birth control pills, contraceptive injection, vaginal ring, skin patch

Have to remember to take every month or day

3) Long-acting reversible contraceptives methods (LARC) - Use copper IUD, contraceptive implant, hormonal IUD

They are long lasting - last for 3 to 10 years of insertion or until the person decides to remove it

Lower pregnancy rate and little effort needed after implantation

4) Sterilization - Tubal ligation (Women) and Vasectomy (Men) through surgery/medical procedure

Permanent method of birth control

5) Natural rhythm methods - While fertile, prevent sex or use birth control only then

More chance to get pregnant

6) Emergency contraception - Use morning-after pills

Prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex

PART TWO

Even though, there are many birth control methods for men (Vasectomy, Male condoms etc), they still don’t use it, as majority of them feel that it reduces the pleasure and will effect their health. Our modern society is still more comfortable with subjecting women with all the pain for the sake of birth control than subjecting men to it. It’s high time for men to step up, and take up their responsibility for pregnancy prevention by using birth control methods.
