The different stages in a conflict can be expressed with the help of five stages as described below :-

• Latent Conflict - It is a sort of hidden conflict where the potential factors that can cause a conflict are present but are not leading to a conflict in the moment. The conflict could be related to divergence of goals or a struggle for power.
• Perceived Conflict - This is the stage where one of the parties is frustrated as they are probably not able to work for their goals. This can also occur without the first stage, that is without the oncoming of the latent conflict.
• Felt Conflict - This is the stage where the personalization of the conflict take place as the individual might be involved in a relationship or has felt that his demands are not being listened to by the organization. In this stage, the conflict is not only perceived but also felt by the stakeholders that are involved.
• Manifest Conflict - It is the kind of conflict where responses from both the sides that are in conflict can be clearly seen. These responses can be of many forms and can manifest themselves in various ways like aggression, sabotage, apathy etc.
• Conflict Aftermath - It is what takes place after the conflict has manifested. There can be both positive or negative aspects after a conflict has taken place but there are surely going to be repercussions in one way or the other.

An example I felt was when I was in conflict while working for a group project. We were multiple people who were working on the same project and a conflict arised between me and my friend who were meant to design the project model together. Thus, all of the stages of conflict are also relatable to real life experiences.
