1. The first rule is to write an e-mail in a concise manner. Overwriting and sharing too much details must be avoided. The e-mail must be short with all the relevant details. E-mail must avoid long stories. It must be up to the point. It must be clear and brief

2. The subject line should be well written. Most often it is seen that subject line is left blank; it must be avoided. The subject must be carefully written in an attractive way that best describes the content in the mail. In other words, the subject line must be representative of the content.

3. The tone of the message must be polite. Improper words must be discarded. Only appropriate words must be used. The overall tone of the message must be polite. Proof reading is also an important principle in the effectiveness of e-mail.
