1. Which model (perspective) proposes the most adequate theory of personality? In other words, which of the models in this lesson do you think describes personality in a way that seems to make the most sense? In a post to the discussion, write a two-paragraph statement stating your choice, and why you think it’s the best model. (If you feel you can write a good statement based on a particular theory as opposed to a general model, that’s an option too). You can use information from the textbook, instructor commentaries, or outside sources in developing your argument.

There are various models reflecting number of theories of personality with varied and still constructive views regarding human personality. Most of these models/ theories have been utilised and practised either in the individual or in the organisational betterment.

Sigmund Freud's theory, psycho sexual stages, tripartite theory, trait theory, Eysenck's personality theory, Carren Horney's CAD model, Cattel's 16 PF theory, Allport's trait theory, Carl Jung's theory are the distinguished approaches to personality.

According to me/ personally i feel that Johari Window developed by Joseph Luft and Harington Ingham with the four quadrants (arena, facade, blind spot and unknown) is the best personality model/ theory as it holistically describes every parameter/ attribute allied with the personality of the human beings.

The process in this model reveals the aspects like something known to the self and by others as well, something known to self but not to others, something known to others but not to the self, and finally something unknown to both, self and others.

The model provides a list of all round, thorough 56 adjectives through which we may attempt to deal with the deep aspects of once personality. The practice of enquiries and analysis using Johari Window may lead to creation of the win- win situations for contemporary employees/ personnel in the current twenty first century organisations.
