Both male and female have similar no stem cells at the beginning of life or at the embryo stage. After 4 to 5 days of fertilization their is 50-150 cells in blastocyst stage and within that , the inner mass contains embryonic pluripotent stem cells.

Yes both male and female use meiosis 1 and 2 for the production of gametes, Male gamete is called as sperms and female gamete is called as eggs.

Maturation of female gamates or eggs takes about 14 days. For maturation of sperm it takes 74 days.
