What are the three functions of the Great Goddess, and why are they important? Explain why and how her three functions are divided among the various Olympian goddesses.

Following are the 3 functions of goddess :-

1) Source of life :- Goddess is the main source of life as is the creator, nature, mother and everything she gives by way of providing natural things. That's why she is also called as mother of earth.

2) Death :- The goddess is the destroyer also as she is takes the life when the time period given to the person is finished as it is the part of life cycle and necessary to run the universe.

3) Transfiguration/rebirth :- The mother goddess give rebirth to the same spirits of whom she taken life. Such rebirth is not necessarily to be in human form, it means it's at the discretion of mother goddess to give rebirth in any of the form like animals, birds, human, species etc.
