What evidence would you suggest to support that organisms that use the acetyl-CoA pathway are anaerobics?
Methanogens are types of organisms, classified as archaea, that exhibit the ability to produce methane as a metabolic byproduct. Methanogens present in non aerobic conditions, are able to use carbon dioxide as a source of carbon for growth. In addition, the carbon dioxide is used as an electron acceptor in the production of methane. Methanogens are able to utilize the acetyl-CoA pathway to fix carbon dioxide.
What evidence would you suggest to support that organisms that use the acetyl-CoA pathway are anaerobics?
pathway: plz ans. the question below regarding leucine and lysine to degraded and yield to acetyl-CoA and acetoacetate pathway. 4. How many reactions are involved in the pathway?
Starting with Acetyl-CoA in the mitochondrial matrix, show how a molecule of acetyl-CoA may get incorporated into a molecule of phosphatyidylserine in the plasma membrane. You should summarize the pathways involved into the critical steps involved. You do NOT need to show every reaction and/or enzyme. You can present your summarizing note in any form like a table, diagram, or outline, do NOT describe it in just words. Your pathway should have a minimum of six steps. Label at least...
The conversion of palmitoyl-coA (16:0) to myristoyl-CoA (14:0) and 1 mol of acetyl-CoA by the beta oxidation pathway results in the fomation of what?
Acetyl-CoA labeled with C, as shown, can enter the citric acid cycle. Assuming all the acetyl-CoA enters the cycle... 1. What fraction of the label will be present in oxaloacetate at the end of one turn of the cycle? 14 2. Which carbons in the oxaloacetate formed by one turn of the cycle would contain the radioactive label? C4 C3 C2 Ci .What fraction of the original radiolabel present in the acetyl-CoA will be present in oxaloacetate at the end...
5. As indicated in the KEGG pathways for fatty acid degradation and biosynthesis which pathway does NOT use acetyl-CoA as a substrate? A. citric acid cycle B. butanoate metabolism C. fatty acid biosynthesis D. glycolysis 6. Which statement is consistent with the comparison of fatty acid biosynthesis in humans and in Helicobacter pylori 2017? A. Both organisms use the same multifunctional enzyme B. Humans use separate proteins to catalyze each step, while H. pylori 2017 uses one multifunctional enzyme to...
3. (10 pts) Citrate synthase catalyzes the reaction: Oxaloacetate + acetyl – COA → citrate + HS – COA The standard free energy change for the reation is -31.5 k] . mol-1. a) Calculate the equilibrium constant for this reaction at 37°C. b) Would you expect this reaction to serve as a control point for its pathway (the citric acid cycle)?

You have made malonyl-CoA from marked CO2 and unmarked acetyl-CoA. Then you are using this malonyl-CoA to synthetized a C12:0 fatty acid. The final product will be radioactive at which carbons?

What is the difference, in number of ATPs produced, between the oxidation of acetyl-CoA and propionyl-CoA? Assume for this question that all molecules enter citrate cycle and produce CAC products. Hint: Proprionyl CoA is converted to succinyl CoA. For this question assume that succinyl CoA enters CAC and continues all the way through (does not leave the cycle as malate).
