Read the following statement below and in a paragraph or more below describe your thoughts and opinions as it pertains to target market.

  Adult day care centers develop programs that are designed to provide rehabilitation services as well as social activities for seniors who are no longer in the workforce (Hogan, n.d). Generally speaking, my target market will be the retiring baby boomers. Specifically, my target customers will be middle income families caring for retiring baby boomers that require assistance with daily living, those with functionality disabilities, and those with Dementia. One of Golden Memories’ primary goals is to provide a peace of mind to the primary caregiver in knowing their loved one is being properly taken care of as they attend work or run errands, during the day. It is important to note that healthy aging baby boomers are not a part of the target market group as we are seeking to build a community program of aging seniors that share similarities in health issues and behavior. Furthermore, retiring baby boomers who do not require any daily living assistance will be less likely to seek this type of service.

            As the use of traditional nursing homes continue to decline, due to government’s ability to fund and increasing vacancies, primary caretakers are now seeking alternative long-term healthcare needs for their loved ones (Advanced Senior Care, 2012). Due to this decline and the increasing number of retiring baby boomers, the demand for alternatives like Adult Day Services is on scope to rise for many years. With many available forms of payment (Medicare, Medicaid, Veteran Administration, or private payout) this service will be affordable for low to middle income families. This is why the selected target market is feasible for my prospective venture.

I agree with your decision to include retiring baby boomers who are not able to take care of themselves or do daily basic things like bath, medication,cleaning etc. I think increase ageing population and retirement of old people create more scope for venture like adult day care because there are middle class families who have husband and wife doing both jobs so they are busy and not able to take care of their ill elders so they hire private adult care who can they rely on and have trust that their elders are in right hands.

i also agree Not including retiring baby boomer who can take care of themselves and are not burden on their families so the venture to open adult day care will be very profitable because of changing demographic in terms of ageing, education, income level in the US.

We all know that US families love their elders so they are ready to pay such organization which can provide special care like family to their ill elders. so i think the chosen target market is the right customers for this venture.
