Fredrick Douglass is one of the most eminent personalities of the 19th century America and a significant figure in African American Freedom movement. He, through his slave narratives brings out the struggles of the African Americans and the violent nature of the slave owners, and the tortures they unleash against the African Americans who were the victims in the hands of the cruel masters. He tries to feel one with those who struggle and make all those who read his texts feel one with the pain the African Americans undergo thus creating a synergy among the African Americans and the White people who thought slavery was not a good thing in the society. He paved the way for the North to decide abolish slavery because he was influential in motivating the White elites to decide on the freedom of African Americans.
