In simple words we can say cost as something we give to get some other thing.

Accordingly cost we incur can be classified into variable or fixed basing on the relation it bears with outcome. Here outcome may be production or sales as the case may be.

(# for every cost there would be intended goal)

Below classification is purely based on the assumption. But for accurate segregation requires figures.

Variable:-

Variable cost means the portion of cost that changes in accordance with production levels.

Fixed Expenses :-

Expenses that remain irrespective of desired outcome i.e production or sales.
