Philosophy: What is the reason for Christianity's great success? In a matter of just a couple of centuries, it was able to essentially replace the Roman Empire in the late ancient world? How can we explain this?

What is the reason for Christianity's great success? In a matter of just a couple of centuries, it was able to essentially replace the Roman Empire in the late ancient world? How can we explain this?

One of the basic teachings of Christianity focused on the promised gifts which the person would get from the spiritual gods. Also, the preachings included the heeling of the misfortunes in the next birth and the liberation from the diseases and sickness also made the religion spread quickly. Immortality and spirituality were the main teachings which attracted a lot of people to join it. The hierarchical system in Rome during the Augustan system reinforce the people of Rome to look forward to rescuing from the situation. The common people wanted a religion which would give them dignity, position, and respect on the society. Christianity gave them the way to attain dignity and status both in society. The Churches, monasteries, hospitals, educational institutions built by the early followers of Christianity made the common people follow the religion so as to attain these facilities. It also preaches harmony, equality, and peace among the people which became an important reason for the success of the religion to become one of the main religion of the world.
