Yes, in my opinion both of the above two sentences are helpful and inspiring to anyone for their future negotiations because:

1. Proper communication is very important for an effective negotiation since the other party is interested for negotiation only once the ideas and thought are clearly communicated to them. Also listening and respecting other party's opinion are equally important in proper negotiation as it creates a mutual understanding between the parties and allows them to express their thoughts freely.

2. Best Alternative to Negotiated Agreement (BATNA) is the strategy to be used in case negotiation between the parties fails. BATNA should be effected by an efficient negotiator who wants the deal to be executed. An effective negotiator must never lie about BATNA and must not disclose weak BATNA to the other party because the negotiation and contract execution is improper if BATNA is weak or if the person has lied. The relationship between the parties gets affected due to this and hence it must be avoided at any cost.
