Can you help me with this problem? There is an answer posted for this question but it uses a substitution that sigma = w times the dielectric constant. I don't know why you can make that substitution because I don't see have conductivity (sigma) is a function of the dielectric constant (epsilon).

Here is the problem:

Show that the normal and tangential components of the current density J at the interface between two media with conductivities s1 and s2 satisfy

J1n = J2n, and (J1t/J2t ) = sigma 1 / sigma 2

sigma is conductivity, J is current density, n is normal, t is tangential
